Lighten Up With Jesus

As we prepare for the New Year, many people are already boxing up all the Christmas decorations. Out goes the tree to the curb to be recycled into wood chips. Out goes the used wrapping paper to be recycled or if shiny then waste (IWMP). Out goes the turkey carcasses - after the soup or dogs are finished with them. Away go the ornaments and unused wrapping paper until next year.
It is good to get rid of certain things in order to begin 2024. The Bible reminds us to leave behind baggage that will just impede our spiritual race. We forget the past so we can move forward? Right?

Yes, we need to learn to forgive ourselves and others as we have been forgiven by God through Jesus Christ. Healing never takes place if we continually reopen the wounds and never allow them closure to heal. However, all medical personnel will tell you that for a wound to heal it must be cleaned so that the infection ends and does not fester or spread.
When you have a moment free from Boxing Week sales, New Years Family or Party prep or just cleaning up from Christmas - Take a second to truly reflect upon what you want Jesus to help you with when it comes down to what to keep or what to get rid of in your life.

Spiritual clutter can be just as paralyzing as physical clutter as you prepare for the next phrase in life' s marathon.
So will you continue to run the race in 2024 with so many unnecessary things weighing you down or ask Jesus for help in helping you run your race a little lighter?
