Do you find it difficult to separate the "Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" from the examples of the "Example of the Followers of Jesus Christ"?
Many people do! Instead of being a mirror image of Jesus Christ - reflecting the fact that we have been forgiven, accepted and redeemed by His grace - many Christians are seen as a fun house mirror reflecting a distorted image of Jesus Christ.
The problem with Christians who reflect the distorted image of Jesus Christ is the fact that Satan uses this distortion and then tries to convince those seeking the true hope that God gives that the distortion is the norm. Sadly, this is evident in how people view the church. While we are not perfect - we could do a lot better job living out the true hope of life, forgiveness, hope and a new start - than we do the repairing of the broken relationship with God that we have caused through our deliberate acts of disobedience.
I would encourage you to read the Gospels for yourself, as well as, passages such as 1 Corinthians 15 that remind us that the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is real. That it fulfilled the Old Testament Scripture as well as the predictions of Jesus Christ himself. This resurrection is the cornerstone upon which our faith and forgiveness or new life is built.
We often live out our beliefs and reflect our values. This does not go unnoticed for a world searching for meaning.
Which mirror image do others see when they look at you?
