Who Decides Your Worth?

Where do you get your sense of value or worth from? Is it from your family? Is it from your peer group? Is it derived from societal standards? Or is it from the One who actually created you? No, not your mom and dad though they were the vehicle used by God to introduce you to this world. The One who created you being the Lord God Almighy.

Many people will acknowledge that the voices in this world speak in language we can hear and understand. They will also admit that trying to hear God's voice is challenging.

The most common lament is that we cannot hear God's voice like Moses did or the disciples of Jesus or even the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus. Yet God does speak in his word - the Bible. He tells us not to believe the lies of the world but listen to him. You are of great value and worth for the mere fact that God designed and made you. All of your efforts to make God love you have no effect on God. He loves you and your tremendous value stems from the fact he made you. He even goes further to prove your value by sending His son, Jesus Christ to die in your place at Calvary to pay the price for our sins. A price we could never pay.

You and I live with a difficult choice each day. Will we let Society and its ever changing set of values determine our value and worth or will we let God with his never changing set of values determine our value and worth? Remember that Society's values run opposite to God's values. "As for me and my house, we will choose the Lord" - Joshua 24:15
